Microsoft COM (Component Object Model) technology in the Microsoft Windows-family of Operating Systems enables software components to communicate. COM is used by developers to create re-usable software components, link components together to build applications, and take advantage of Windows services. The family of COM technologies includes COM+, Distributed COM (DCOM) and ActiveX® Controls.

For one, you should download all your updates and should have SP2 and not SP1. Microsoft will not give you any support unless you have SP2. I don't know what the deadline is or if it happened already. You might be having this problem due to an unsupported program or SP1.

http://search.microsoft.com/search/...s&st=b&na=82&qu=event+Id+7034++7031+in+system. follow this link for the other errors. I believe you have more than one problem going on. My personal opinion though is you need to update your pc.

Does it do this when installing any program...or just a certain one? It could
be bad sectors/blocks on your hard drive. There was also a rollup update
after SP1 that has to do with COM+ but I don't think it will fix your
problem. Plus it's not available without contacting MS I believe. Here is an
address to the article though:

Is there some reason you are not running SP2? Maybe updating to SP2 may fix
it.
