Columns Problem

Hello,

I have started to set up a web page in Frontpage 2000, but
know I'm at the stage where I have decided that I would
prefer two (or three if needed)columns of text/table's on
the page.

Had a bit of a search through the menus to no avail. I
thought I might find the answer in the "frames" menu - but
this is greyed out atm.

Any suggestions on how I do this?

Cheers

OK, I'm reaonably comfortable with tables, but now
completely sure how to get over some of the niggles if I
use tables.

For example, I cant put seperate tables left/right of each
other. However I presume I could make it one big table,
but then I might have issues when the seperate areas start
at different heights.

Ideally I'm trying to something like the link below, which
appears to have alot of tables? in it

Have they used tables or CSS?

Cheers

You can have separate tables left, center and right, just create a table
with 3 columns, then insert a table into each column. These nested table
will be independent of each other.

The link below is using CSS, which work fine in NS6 and up browsers, but
does not work as well in NS 4 browsers.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I tried multiple tables just then after writing my message.

I started off by by creating a 3 column table, and then
placed other tables within each column as need.

Only problem with this is that each sub-table aligns
itslef vertically along the center of the "outside"
tables, meaning that that the different inner tables start
at different heights, since they are of differing sizes

Any suggestions on progressing further with tables to get
everything aligned, or could you give me a few quick
pointers on using CSS?

Cheers

Select the bottom table's columns (Cells) and set the alignment to top and
center.

Sorry, can't help you with using CSS, as I don't use CSS for page layout.

Be carefully, if you expect to have NS 4 user visiting your website, as
absolute positioning is not well supported and you find that you content
overlaps each other.
