I do not know when or how this happened.... All of a
sudden all of my spread sheets and any new ones have the
columns as # not letters. All the formulas are still
working but they are now changed to SUM(R[-2]C:R[-1]C)
insted of a1+a2

HELP?????

Thanks

Bill

I assume you changed from R1C1 notation to A1 in Tools>Options>View.

"Fixed" for now...

Problem is that Excel will use the saved view of the first workbook opened
during an Excel session. All other workbooks opened subsequent to this will
have R1C1 if the first workbook is not closed before opening others.

One or more workbooks were saved with the R1C1 view. Find out which it/they
is/are and re-save.

I still dont know how it got into that mode.... but its
all fixed..

I can't identify what Muntasar's solution is for, but the problem with
numbers across the top instead of letters for column headers is solved
with. Tools (menu), Options, General (tab), uncheck R1C1 reference style
