I have Outlook 2002. When I compose a new message, the formatting is hard to read by the recipeint because my text goes right across the text body. I have noticed that emails I receive from other people are narrower columns which are easier to read

How do I create narrower paragraphs on new messages? And how do I create narrower paragraphs when I reply to an email I have received

Thanks in advance for your help

Howard

Assuming these are plain text formatted messages: Go to Tools | Options |
Mail Format | Internet Format -- the setting is in the "Plain Text" section
("Automatically wrap text at X characters"). The default is 76 characters,
I believe.

Thanks for your help. I did exactly as you mentioned, but in either plain text or HTML the column width text still goes to the end of the page, even though I changed to 50 characters from default 76

Any further advice greatly appreciated

Are you sure the recipients are receiving your messages with the wrong line
length? You won't see the wrapping as you type, but it should show up right
on their end...

That seems to have helped. It doesn't come out at the number of characters I enter, but still, it is an improvement

Thanks
