And have you done any troubleshooting - like trying the monitor with another
system, for example?! Or was posting here the first thing you did? Try the
monitor on another system and post back. I suspect the monitor is going to
need to be replaced, though.

Try left click on an empty spot on the desktop, go to
properties, right click settings. Is your color settings
correct? RE: 16 colors, 256 colors, high colors {16 bit},
true color {24 bit}. Sometimes when I put my daughters'
games in the colors seem to change to adjust to the disk
setting. Ididn't know my comouter could do this until it
did, but I would have to go back and correct the color
when she was done playing the game. This may help. Please
let me know.

This is most likely caused by the cable plug not being tight in the PC's
socket, or there is a loose connection somewhere in the cable or inside the
monitor. The symptoms you describe are usually caused by a single color
signal not reaching the display properly.

If all connections are tight, then first check the display on another
computer/laptop/whatever you can get your hands on. If problems persist,
borrow another monitor from a friend or bring you PC to their place to prove
it's the monitor and not your video card. (VERY low probability it's the
computer output doing this.) Unless you have a very expensive monitor, plan
on replacing it. Repair costs are about the same as getting a replacement
monitor nowadays.
