Coloured messages in Folder

I have separate folders for each friend or contact in which I store all the
Emails I have sent to them and the Emails they send to me.

In the folder for just one of my friends, the message headers I have sent to
them are in black but the message headers they have sent to me are red. It
is thus easy to glance down the list and see who sent what.

All messages appear in my inbox as black - including those from this
particular friend.

The mystery is that no other folder behaves like this. I have tried filing
messages from other friends in this folder - but they appear black which
suggests the messages from my friend are somehow coded. However, I have
tried using Outlook Express - but none show up in red.

I am sure there is a simple explanation - but it eludes me.

I should add to my original posting - if I file my friends messages in any
other folder - they always appear in black. It is only when they are files
in his folder that they are in red.

Thank you for the advice - now done and dusted OK

You can do this by modifying your view in Automatic Formatting or use the
Organize button on the Toolbar.
