Hi Guys,

I have had a small issue with colours on my i950 since I bought it. I
say colours but my biggest issue is with certain shades of blue. These
shades in photos will end up looking a little unreal, like the printer
is compensating for the picture. The photo itself is taken with a
Canon S45 and it looks fine on both the camera itself and the monitor
(ie. real to life colours). I have tried many of the options in the
printer preferences, different photo printing programs, and played
with colour profiles to no avail. I am still using the original ink
cartridges too, and have had a friend print the same picture from his
photo printer with no problems.

I would really appreciate any help or advice you guys could give.

Many Thanks,
Mark

I might be going off at a tangent here as you say you have tried
different settings etc but have you unchecked the "vivid photo" option
about halfway down on the "effects" tab of the printer preferences? It
is only a smallcheckbox with hardly any writing (before image
optimisation etc) and quite easy to miss inmy opinion. The manual says:
"3) Vivid Photo

By using this function, you can reproduce breathtaking sceneries, where
colors, especially blues and greens, appear even more vibrant. A major
feature of this function is its ability to create vivid backgrounds of
fields, trees, oceans, and sky, while maintaining the natural skin tones
of people that appear in the images."

I printed a photo with some alarming (to me!!) greens in the background
and wondered why until I noticed this box had been checked in
preferences.
As I say this may be of no use to you as it sounds as if you have done
some fairly comprehensive trouble shooting but on the other hand....
