This has probably come up before, but I have a colour problem when
previewing with windows moviemaker since I downloaded SP2. Is there
anything that I should change to get it right.
thanks
Colin

Hello,

Does the saved video file played in Media Player play properly? If yes then
it is likely you have run out of space for something called a Colour
Palette. Its a symptom of less capable graphic cards sorry to say. It is
usually found on old computers but can occur where you have a graphic card
that uses some of the conventional RAM to store data in. Graphics card.
With such a card it is sometimes possible to alter the amount of normal RAM
used I have seen that work where the amount of ram designated was wrong and
once corrected everything worked OK

The problem should only appear when you have had multiple video windows
open (this can cause the system to run out of storage space). The short
term solution is simple enough...reboot the machine or simply close all
video programs and then re-open Movie Maker. If the problem appears as soon
as you start the first video program you need to take a hard look at your
graphics card and setup

Hello again,

The first part of my reply is very badly worded....forget the first
sentence.

As it started to happen since SP2... I would suspect you need to
update/reinstall the graphics card drivers. Installation of SP2 might have
replaced your driver with the standard windows driver. Also make sure you
have latest DirectX runtime installed.
