Hi

I only need colour printing occasionally.

In the past I've had a few colour inkjets which all become unusable after
drying out. I found the ink just evaporated from the cartridges and the
print heads had ink dry out in them and its wasn't possible to get them
working again.

I followed all the manufactures instructions about keeping the printers
powered to prevent drying out etc. but it made no difference.

So I'm wondering if things have improved with ink printer technologies?

Can anyone recommend a colour printer that can cope with being used for just
a few pages once every few months?

What about colour lasers?

Thanks for any info.

Color lasers are probably too expensive to justify occasional printing.

How about the Canon i560/i860 printers? Both models are quite cheap, and
the ink is cheap as well - so you may consider using it to print more often
.. Furthermore, because the ink is so cheap, you won't hesistate to run a
cleaning mode should it be needed. Finally, Canon printers don't seem to
clog as often as Epsons.

And you can reomve the head/cartridge and store them in a sealed
container.
