Excel Colour code dates

Hi all,

I need to format a spread sheet to have a traffic light system to show applications that are 30 days old, 31 to 59 days old and 60 days or older. I need to make it so that up to 30 days is green, 31 to 59 days is amber and 60 days or over is red.

I have the application date set in column I and the deadline date in column J. I need the colour scheme to run from the application date and not todays date.

Is it possible to put the colour change in Column A so it can be looked at quickly to see what stage an application is at?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You can select a cell, then change the format using the properties of a CellFormat object.

Range("A1").Select
Selection.Interior.ColorIndex = 36

You would have to lookup what the color index for each color.
