Does anyone know what the formula or blurp is that you can
change the color of a cell or text when it changes. i
want the word late to be red. and the words on-time to be
bold black. does anyone know how to do that?

Use conditional formatting. Go to Format|Conditional formatting, then, for
Condition 1 select "Cell Value is" "equal to" and in the last box type in
"late" (no parens). Click on format and select red for the font color. Next,
click on Add>> and repeat the same for "on-time"
