I have selected a color for messages from several people.
Now I want to add more color to other people but the rule
does not allow me because says it has a limit.

How I can increase the limit of people using the color?

If I can't increase it how can erase some people using
the color rule so I have color rule available?

Are you using Exchange? Then the limit is 32kB and cannot be changed.

Thanks for the reply. I don't use Exchange Please read my
question. The error says"You can't add another color
because you have exceeded the maximum NUMBER of rules for
this folder" It does not say anything about 32KB. Perhaps
you misunderstood my question. I need to know if there is
a way to increse the number of rules. In case the answer
is not then how I can reduce some of them so later I can
add again.

The number of rules is irrelevant, the 32K limit is what applies even
with no Exchange. To reduce the overall size of your rules either
delete some or make them inactive. Inactive rules don't count against
the 32K limit, which cannot be changed.

Ken, thanks. Why the error message is telling about the
number of rules instead the amount of memeory? very
confusing. if having or no having Exchange is irrelevant
why asking if I have Exchange? another confusing reply
HThen, how can reduce my numberof color rules? You said "
or make them inactive..inactive rules don't count aginst"
the, what is the purpose of doing it if I don't get any
results? Confusing. please be explicit in your solutions.

Hi Edgard,

You can disable these color rules in View-> Arrange By-> Customize Current
View...-> button Automatic Formatting

The advantage of disabling them over deleting them is that you have the
option to enable them later. I have some color rules disabled all the time
but when I work on a certain project I enable them to let certain messages
strike in my current Inbox and prioritize certain messages when they come
in.
