Whenever anything color is printed to this printer it is VERY SLOW..

A single page of colored TEXT is about 1.5 minutes... I printed one
graphical document (13 page) symbol graphics - 20 min... Someone else
printed a comples graphical document - 10 pages took about 4.5
hours....

(Using Windows 2000)

This is a network printer on a print server. Only the PostScript
drivers are available on the server. I loaded the PCL drivers locally
- the 20 min document took 15 minutes... I tried lowering the
resolution... nothing...
I tried different type of graphics....

Any other ideas for a good combination of setting for speed? (both
with and without quality loss / for reference). Yes, this printer is
not a speed-deamon --- but this is rediculous!

Don't use the "Standard TCP/IP Port" in Windows 2000. Use real LPR
(File/Print Services for UNIX) from the server to the printer.
