color ink cartridge

i have a lexmark x83 printer and since i installed new ink cartridges it
won't print in color, in fact it doesn't even detect the color cartridge at
all. Iv'e tried disconnecting the cables and restarting the computer,
double-checked properties color setting, cleaned nozzles. nothing has worked,
any suggestions?
