Does anyone know of a way to change the color of only a few items from a list
within a dropdown menu box (so they stand out from the others when the
dropdown menu appears?). More generally, how do you make 3 or 4 items from a
dropdown menu list of, say 15 items, stand out from the others so they are
easier to see?

Thanks.

You can't.
Perhaps you could substitute a small sub form in continuous view in
place of the combo box. If you have Access 2000 or newer you might be
able to use conditional formatting (depending upon what the conditions
are).
