Is there a way to color code events in month view in Outlook 2000?
Alternatively, can the font or shading for individual events be
changed?

If I want to switch to Outlook 2002 or 2003, can I do so without
changing completely to Office 2002 or 2003? That is, can I
selectively upgrade just Outlook? (If so, should I replace Outlook
2000 or install both?)

You can, but you'll lose WordMail and some other functionality related to
Outlook working with other Office programs.

Is there any place where I can find a list of the functions I will
lose if switch to Outlook 2002 or 2003 without otherwise upgrading
Office?

Also, if I do this should I *keep* the old version of Outlook
installed and add the new version or just *replace* it with the new
version?

TIA

It's a short list:

-- WordMail as the email editor
-- File | Send To | Mail Recipient in Office programs
-- Email merge using Outlook contacts and Word's mail merge feature

You can have only one version of Outlook on any given machine. Installing
Outlook 2002 or 2003 will remove any earlier version.
