I have a 3D area chart representing a heated mass. Is there a way to make the
color of the area vary depending on the value of another field (temperature)?
The color would represent hot & cold spots in the heated mass.

I'd appreciate any help.

Excel's capacities are pretty limited in the areas of 3-d charting.
That's what you want, I think -- x axis and y axis are dimensions of the
part, and the z axis would be the temperature. I don't think you'll be
able to do that in Excel without writing the code for the entire chart
yourself.

Could I possibly write code to add the colors to an existing chart ? Even if
it's 2D with coloring would be a great help.

Thanks,
Mike
