OK, Here's the problem:

My XP(Home) box's display is suddenly seriously
degraded. I've a Dell 2350 with a Dell 17" flat screen which was great until
today. Suddenly, the colors are much "starker" and the lines in Windows
"forms"-like the ones that frame this e-mail- are much thicker. My monitor
settings appear OK(800 X 600,32-bit true color, 75 MHz), I've been through
the "Display" and "Gamma" menu in the Control Panel, and all settings seem
OK. Where can I go with this next?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

17'' monitors should be set to 1024x768 or more for best appearance.
try enabling or disabling clear type in the effects menu in the appearances
tab - display properties

.
Hi Jim well what I would do next is check your video
card, doese your dell video card built in or is it
installed in a pci slot? I'm thinking that your video
card is going bad or your monitor. If you can install a
new video card that will let you know what the problem
is..if the new video card takes care of the issue then we
know it's your video card, but if the problem presist
then it will be your monitor...ok
