WMM V2.1.4026.0
On the COLLECTIONS window .... how to have it clear ?
I'd like to flush the 'old stuff' when I start a new project.
I would think that would be something a lot of folks would like
Did I just not find the correct item somewhere in the program to have it
do so ?

For instance, back from recent trip - copy all files from memory stick to
a PC folder.
Would like to import it all and it that stuff be all that shows up on my
collections screen ( or leave the rest and put this into its own folder).
I don't now need 200 filenames on my screen from a trip/birthday party
that happened last year -- as well as all of today's pictures. Let me
organize them.

Thanks, I'm trying that now ....

re:
a.. Now on to organizing your collections the way you want them. Click the
"Collections" button on the taskbar and all your collections will show in
the left pane of the program window.

a.. Click on a collection. All the clips from that collection are shown in
the main window panel.

I had imported all pix/avi's from camera and "each is it's own collection"
currently.

I just created new collection - Disney Trip and dragging each into it - OK

Anyway to grab more than one at a time ? ( Yeah , always looking for the
easy way out)

Or must I drag each one at a time to the Disney collection.

BTW I had tried "create new collection" before hoping it would be a folder
, but the icon was the same so I didn;t realize it COULD be a folder.

So in the future, I'll create the collection FIRST and highlight it - THAT
was my mistake.

While I'm asking .... I'll go all the way :

All this stuff is already organized in my travel folder.

So when I return from a Disney - Boston drive, I've already
imported/organized the files from my camera into a...

Disney Folder

Savannah Folder

Hilton Head Folder

Charleston .... and so on.

Now I want all of that in one video.

What's the easiest way to do it ?

Rather, IS there any easy way in WMM to 'select it all' - "leave it
organized as is" - make the video and exit gracefully, rather than picking
/ sorting each file individually ? THAT's the BIG complaint I have about
the app. Any other program that will do that for us easily ?

Thanks for the tips as at least that gets 100+ items off my window for
now.

Excellent - it was tedious but now rather than each picture/video being a
Collection ( hundreds). NOW it's as it should be - the 4 collections now
on my screen contain all the pictures/ movies with each item nested in its
rightful place.

My big messup early on was not realizing that " any item" IS a collection
and contain other items. I created 'New Collection' and always same Icon.
I was thinking icons were be different like file/folder.
Much better - thanks again Wojo.
