I am trying to collect data via email. Howeve, when I try to export to
Access from Outlook I get the following message: "Cannot export data due to
errors. Failure: Data type mismatch in criteria expression" I am not sure
what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

This error means that you are trying to import a data type that isn't the
same as the data type your trying to import it into. Most common cause is
you are missing quotes in the right place. Also during an import depending
on how you are doing it Access will make assumtions about the data based on
records in the beginning of the file. For instance, you are importing a
text field but the first few records look like a date or numeric data.
Access will attempt to assist you and use the wrong format for the field
import. If you could provide a couple of the first records you are sending
from access and what the table field types are others may be able to provide
you more help. Also if it is from outlook then access expects the field
format exactly the way outlook stores it. Pete

I have been sending the form to myself. I have the fields that I am trying
to import data on set to long interger and I am entering 4 digit numbers.
The strange thing is that I do not have any problems when I send a form
entering new records, only when I try to update them. This information is
sent from a select query that has calculated date fields. The email will
always be the first records, given that it is a select query of data that is
due on "Today's date". Any assistance is appreciated.

You need to look at what the data type is produced by the query and what
your trying to send. Criteria is what your trying to select by such as
"like 1234". Test your criteria for unlike data format.

The criteria data format and the data being collected our two different
formats (criteria is a date the data being updated/collected is number). The
query runs fine and adding records via email works also, but when you try to
update via email the error message comes up. I am not sure what I am missing.
