Impressive. More than double the number of posts of the 'runner up'

I'm the runner-up. :-)

It's okay to be beat by the someone like Colin-
he's a top notch kinda of guy. Even if he looks like
my grandpa... that's even better. ;-)

OK, let's see... 282 messages for January, that would be around 10 per day
(or so I thought). Nice.

Now, I've looked into my e-mail history, there's 175 messages I've sent to
this NG for last month. But I can't see my address on that page. <G>

Oh, wait, guess what, looks like google stats you've mentioned were
collected since.. 25 January!

Unbelievable. I'll leave it to you to calculate average number of posts per
day by Colin...

Well, the original point of my post was that Google Groups has finally
started archiving this newsgroup. But I thought that this was a bit more
interesting.

Both you and Colin would probably beat me in *quality* posts.
I can get busy just running my mouth at times. ;-)

Interesting, vista.general has 4241 posts this month. Windowsxp.general has
16150. Vista will catch up though now that it's been released.

It's about to to real busy up in here. :-)

And that says nothing about the content which is excellent as well. It
amazes me how Colin can post as much as he does and have useful content.
Congratulations Colin.

Michael,

It took me some time to find the definition of "running one's mouth" term
and I'm still not sure I got it right :-). Anyway, thank you for your kind
words, appreciate it.

Forgive me, I sometimes forget the international flavor of this
group.

Basically, "running one's mouth" means talking too damn much
about unimportant stuff.

Take care,

To see how he's done for the full month see
http://netscan.research.microsoft.c....windows.vista.general&sNGID=372455&sTP=Month.
803 posts for the month, and that's just this group. See
http://netscan.research.microsoft.com//author/[email protected]
for other groups, total of 1,349 posts across 15 newsgroups.

Colin, when do you sleep?

Oh, I was aware of that website from a few years ago, but the last time I
checked it (about a year ago), it seemed to have frozen a few months before,
so I thought that project was dead. Nice to see it back, as it is pretty
interesting.

Thanks for the kind words folks. :)

For those who aspire to become an MVP, these kinds of statistics are key
both to getting nominated and getting awarded.

My MVP lead informed me some months ago of some of these same statistics and
my relative ranking. It hasn't changed since CPP went online.

MS has its own search engine for compiling the community performance of MVPs
and candidates. That's how the Group of Seven on the website were selected
to be featured. It is also one of the tools the MVP leads use when the time
comes to evaluate community participation for re-awarding MVPness. I had a
heads up about something else related to this but declined to take
advantage. You guys would shoot me for not doing so, so I will NOT
disclose.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your nice comments. Thanks!

....but who's counting... :P
