Codec for slide show movie maker

Hello, All!

I've tried to make a movie for a DVD using Slide Show Movie Maker 3.7.
However, I can not get a video codec to work in it. Every one that is listed
in the drop down for the s/w gives me an error. I downloaded XviD and
installed it (even tried installing in the codec folder under SSMM) but
still get nothing but an error. Has anyone gotten this to work and what is
the secret?

I believe SSMM outputs an AVI file. You can examine it with AviCodec
to find out which codec you're missing.
