I'm trying to import a video that I burned to a disk on a dvd recorder, from
a cam corder, or vcr. I've done this before with no problem but now I keep
getting a codec error. I've tried several times to download things that claim
to help, only to find out that "free" does not mean free! And I need this to
edit a players football highlights.
Can anyone help me? Where do you get the Codec's to make this dang thing do
what it is supposed to!

Thanks,

I don't know if you solved your problem, but I too got the same message and
had a friend direct me to www.codecguide.com where I down loaded free the
basic k-lite pack and it solved my problem.

My present issue is that the movie maker program constantly says it has
encountered an error and must be shut down. I can't even do anything with
it.
Good luck
