Code 39: Modems

D

Dil

I was connected to the internet via my network but now
have to use dial up. I get error code 39 when trying to
access my modem. "Windows cannot load the device driver
for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing
(Code 39)" - is what I receive when looking at properties
in Device Manager. I have used different modems,
uninstalled and reinstalled and used different PCI slots
but this problem still occurs. I believe it may be
something to do with the registry as the hardware itself
is fine and has worked before. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Try using System Restore to take you back to a time prior to when you had
this problem. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

If it is a registry issue, the above should handle it as it will restore to
the registry to that restore point.
