I'm having trouble installing drivers for a Canon Powershot A95 camera.
They're running (fully patched) Windows 2000 Professional. I've tried
installing the drivers supplied on the CD and from the manufacturer's
website (they appear to be the same version though the website claims to be
a newer version). No matter which I try, I get a Device Manager error code
31, i.e. the drivers are not installed properly (yellow question mark on the
Device Manager tree). The drivers are not verified by M$, and I wonder
whether this could be a factor (M$ just refusing to accept anything not
verified) but that's just speculation. I've come across some discussions
regarding W2K's inability to run more than one USB item at a time (a scanner
is attached as well), though this appears to have been fixed about a year
ago and the system appears to have later (including fix) copies of the
affected files.
Any ideas? It's quite a new model of camera so I wonder whether the
(somewhat generic I think) driver software is suitable. The alternative
might be to by a CF reader, but I'd like to avoid further outlay if
possible.
Thanks in advance.
