Code 31 After removing Adaptec Easy CD Creator

I removed adaptec easy cd creator from my computer, after
that my D and E drive disappeared from my computer and the
A drive tells me thatit is not accessible. my device
manager shows me an error code as follows "The device is
not working properly because Windows cannot load the
drivers required for this device (Code 31). I did what
Base article 315378 told me to do, but still nothing. I
need to know what driver it is that I need to install. I
run windows 2000 Professional, I have an Hi-Val CD-R
24x10x40x model#H241040A-15R,and a Memorex 48x CD-Rom. Can
someone please haelp me? I am not real knowledgable of
the computer and the person who put this computer together
for me has not apparently had time to come over and fix
it. SYS INFO: Wndows 2000 Pro, VER; 5.0.2195 Pack 4 Build
2195 SYS MANU: MSI; Sys type; X86-based PC, processor x86
Family model 6 stepping 2 AuthenticAMD~1666 Mhz; windows
directory C:\WINNT; Sys Directory C:\WINNT\system 32.
SOMONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!
 
I had the same problem and restoring the drivers didn't work either. I had
to manually delete the references to the drive from the registry and re-work
them.

I wish I could help but this is drive-specific to some extent. Perhaps you
can relay this to a person near you with more experience? You need to get
the device name (I have an old Sony CDU511 (the keys looked like
___CDU_511___) for my second drive), and you need to delete all the
references to the drive. A reboot should re-install the drive.

It NEVER crossed my mind an Adaptec issue was in Microsoft.com. It appears
I took the long way around.
Anyhow, the article states:

"You are cannot access your CD-ROMs"

Maybe that's why I missed it :)
