I have a program that utilizes Access 2002 Runtime which
is installed on a server that is also running Access 2000
programs. The issue arises when trying to start the
Runtime program, it tries to start up using Access 2000.
This causes numerous runtime and on-click errors. Has
anyone ever successfully run both applications and if so,
how does it work?

You must open one version or the other explicitly using a shortcut. If you
rely on file associations, they will change back and forth between the
versions you have installed.

Check out the FAQs at: http://www.aylott.com.au/accver.htm

One of the problems you have with two or more versions of Access
installed is opening the correct version for each MDB/MDE. When you
double click on an MDB/MDE it will open the default (or last used)
version of Access which is not always what you want.

You may like to try this shareware utility:

ACCVER - Allows you to work with multiple
versions of MS Access.
Detects the version of Access used to create
your MDB, MDE or MDA files and either reports
the version number or starts the appropriate
version of MS Access.
An additional option allows you to compact
the database from a right-click menu item.
Windows Software from Aylott Computing.

There is a rumour that Access 2K and 2K2 both use the
same GUID automation identifier. IE, that if you use
CreateObject or GetObject there is no way to control
which you get. If this is true, you may have problems.
