i have install office 2000 and the feature to select non adjacent cells
doesn't work. It did on my other pc - what have i done wrong?

What results do you get that lead you to believe it "doesn't work"?

No cells selected? All cells selected? Excel closes?

What happens when you hit SHIFT + F8 to get "ADD" in status bar then click on
non-adjacent cells without using CRTL key?

Thankyou for replying.........

The cells don't turn blue and it appaers to stick - excel doesn't close.
SHIFT + F8 turns the cells blue as expected - "ADD" is in the status bar.
Perhaps the problem isn't excel as i can't select non-adjacent files in
windows explorer - Windows XP (service Pack 2 is not applied)?!
Hope you can help as this is starting to bug me!

Sounds like a faulty keyboard if the CRTL keys(you did try both, right?) do
not work in other Apps as well.

Open Windows Explorer and select a file.

Hit CRTL + C then CRTL + V

Do you get a pasted copy of the file?

Try another keyboard or turn yours upside down and give it a shake to remove
bread and cookie crumbs.
