Hello,
The past few days whenever I start my computer up I get the cmd.exe prompt
appears on my desktop and disappears about 3 times... It appears that one of
the cmd.exe's says "installing" something but disappears to quickly to catch
it. To me it seems to be a backdoor hack or virus of some kind. I tried all
kinds of virus and trojan scans, found many things(mostly adware) but nothing
will get rid of the cmd.exe problem i am having. I went through my startup
services and stuff, didn't see anything that was out of place, turned a lot
of extra stuff off, but still the cmd.exe pops up. Tried removing cmd.exe out
of my system32 folder, it keeps reappearing back in there.
Also appears that the virus has disabled my WinXP ICF(Internet Connection
Firewall) I cannot reenable it, I get a error message saying that the service
cannot start.
I am currently installing SP2, maybe that will help? But any comments or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Brad
