Hi Folks,
I am having 'trouble' with my (lack of) Outlook 2002 address books. A
brief history may be in order:
a) Up until 6 months ago I was on OE6 user.
b) I converted to Outlook 2000 reasonably seamlessy.
c) I then upgraded to Windows XP via a complete reformat etc. after having
backed everything up on DVD.
d) Installed Office/Outlook 2000 and then upgraded to Outlook 2002 via
Pocket PC software.
e) I then realised I could not import messages etc. OE had previously
allowed the importing of .dbx files which did not seem the way to do this
now. I simply copied the .pst file from the backup into the new Outlook
folders.
f) Miraculously and thankfully all my old email folders were restored but
any semblance of an address book seems to have long gone.
g) For the first few days of the new set up I received numerous annoying
LDAP related errors which I frankly could not be arsed about since I've
never dealt with this before.
..... however I have now been drawn into the arena of sorting my PC
out since whenever I want to send new emails and click on the 'To...' button
nothing appears...grrrr. I hate being this inept at sorting stuff out.
Google and Microsoft site do not help - not with my searches anyway. Can
one of you please let me know
how I can create a decent address book that Outlook recognises from my
copious list of inaccessible contacts ?
Whenever I go near any address book functionality all I receive is an error
messages such as 'The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts
folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it may have
been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions.'
Is there a nice simply way to get the contacts list to be recognised as an
address book or at least be able to pick from the contacts' emails when I am
composing a new mail.
Anyway help would be extremely gratefully received.
Cheers,
Keith
