As so many products are cloud based or require online access to update, it can be quite problematic over Christmas when lots of people get new gadgets and try to go online at the same time. In previous years, I've found that my PS3 and PS4 had problems connecting to some cloud services, as demand was so high.
This year, I've found that I couldn't update my logitech Harmony remote control (as it relies on cloud services) and I wasn't able to update the maps and traffic info on my TomTom GPS. I guess both of these are popular Christmas presents, so there will be a huge surge in server demand.
So much for the cloud improving reliability! .
