Closing Word Documents

When I close some of my Word documents, the entire Word program closes down
as well. I click on the little x at the top right of the document itself
(not the X for the Word program) but the whole program is gone. Again, it
only happens with some documents. Can you help?

I don't know if there is any connection, but the same thing is happening
with the Internet: when I get out of one site, the entire thing closes out,
instead of just the place I'm visiting...happens with only some, not all.

This may be related to a very obscure Windows bug to do with Handwriting
Recognition. Go to the Windows Control Panel, Regional and Language
settings, select the Language Tab and then the Advanced button. Uninstall
the Handwriting Recognition option.
