Is there a way to automatically stop the original presnetation when I
hyperlink from it to a second, third, etc?

Thanks.

JHVS,

To the best of my knowledge, it does Stop.

What happens with yours?

Are you hyperlinking or Action settings to something?

When linking from one show to another, you daisy-chain the presentations in
memory. A linked to B linked to C linked to D: keeps all of these open in
memory (ABC&D)

3 options:
1) change the way you link. Instead of chaining all the presentations
together, link them all to one master presentation. A links to B and when
it ends, reverts to A. A then links to C, which when ends reverts to A,
etc. This way only A and one other presentation are open at any given time.
(A&B or A&C or A&D)

2) VBA. You can change the hyperlink to an 'action setting' that triggers a
macro to close all shows and open just the next one. Problematic if you are
not familiar with VBA, but very doable.

3) Use 'Single SlideShow' add-in by Shyam to allow only one show at a time
to run, closing all the previous instances of PowerPoint shows. It's good
stuff. See it at:
