Closing multiple chat windows with one command

Is there a way of sending one message to all open chat
windows.

Typical scenario: My kids have multiple chat windows
open, usually when it's time to do their homework/come to
the table for dinner/whatever, and it takes them forever
to say "Bye" on all their open chats. It drives me and my
wife crazy!

I'd like them to be able to create one "bye" or "got to
go now" message and have it sent to all open chat
windows. If this could also change their status or do a
sign-out would be even better.

Greetings Alan,

Unfortunately there is no current option like this and would require some programming
language in order to do it. My suggestion would be to give them a "2 minute warning" to say
goodbye to everyone, and at the end of the 2 minutes, they have to sign off (just like if
they were on the phone).

Hi Alan,

Actually, up until last September, I was a teenage kid =).

Actually in the next version of Windows there will be a lot more emphasis on this type of
functionality, throughout Windows (not just Messenger), however, you can always suggest these
types of things to Microsoft (yes, these actually do go somewhere) here:

As well, no harm in requesting it from other people creating Messenger add-ons.

Man, oh man, now I am really feeling old.
That means you are younger than my oldest daughter.

Heh heh,

Ummmm, lesseee, NO!!
But thanks for asking!

Whew, I got enough troubles fighting the guys off as it is!!

:)

Hi guys

Glad to see my original query has prompted some mirth.
I've got the "fighting-off guys" syndrome to deal with
too; the eldest of my kids is a teenage duaghter, and the
other a son who thinks and acts like one, although not
yet in the actual teen category.

Anyway I have discovered that there is a command in
Messenger Plus that provides the functionality I'm
looking for. So my sanity, and my wife's, is safe for a
while longer!

Cheers
Alan :)
