Hi, the problem I am having is that when I log on to any
accounts on my computer, i can log out straight away,
BUT , if I use anything there (any program or
application) when I come to log off it goes through the
motions and then returns me to the normal screen and
nothing will work, I have to carry out a hard reboot to
get to use my system again..has anyone else come across
this problem and if so did you solve it and how? ( i have
carried out a repair of the operating system using the
installation disk)

It sounds like you are running a program that is not friendly with Fast
User Switching. It's possible that it is one of the startup items. You'll
need to experiment to find out which one. MSCONFIG is a good tool for this
kind of troubleshooting.
