Closing Down Problem

When I try to shut down my puter I sometimes have to go through the
procedure twice to achieve it. When this happens it seems to close down my
MS Office shortcut bar but does not appear to do anything else - the puter
seems to hang until I click Start, Turn off Computer, Shut Down, again. If I
don't click these for a second time I can continue to use the puter as
normal. It always closes properly on the second attempt. Any ideas? It
sounds to me like there's a running program which refuses to close.

John, did you look in Task Manager under Applications to see whats
running? Do a google search for Shutdown Problems
in WinXP.
