Closing App using TaskBar Button without restoring

Does anyone know (in XP) how to close an application using the Taskbar button? If you right click or left click the application will be redisplayed and you can choose to "X" the program or "close" it from the menu but I want to be able to close the application without it being redisplayed.
 
If the window (corresponding to the button you use) is minimized, then the
window will not be displayed (brought to the forefront).

If the window is restored, then the window will be displayed. You cannot
change this behavior, sorry.
