Closing ALL open windows

Is there a shortcut that allows you to close all the windows that are open
on your desktop instead of closing them one at a time? Mac OS has a
shortcut that will close all the applications that are currently open. Can
Windows do this? Thanks!

Although I don't know the answer to the OP's question, I know this isn't the
correct one. Both Win-M and Win-D minimize all open windows. They don't
close anything. Which, in case the programs don't minimize to the taskbar,
is an important distinction, because you might think they're closed, when
they're just minimized and still using CPU cycles.
