Clone SCSI to IDE; OS W2K

Would anyone be able to offer suggestions for solving my problem.

I have an IBM system which has a SCSI 17 GB HD with Windows 2K Pro on
it but I do not have the MS 2KPro recovery disks (even though I have
the certificate of authenticity). I would like to clone this operating
system to a new IDE Hitachi 160 GB HD.

Is there any good freeware for such a venture? Can MaxBlast 3 or 4 do
the job? (I understand that it works quite well on non-Maxtor disks?)
How about Casper XP? Perhaps XXCopy? Or, do I have to pay for the
likes of Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost 9.0?

I am told that, in any case, I would have a problem with "boot.ini"
files when going from SCSI to IDE. Is there a resource for deciphering
this?

hi ,

you should get a copy of missed disks and go with a repair-installation
.. any other way will be almost desastrous .

I'd make a copy of the CD since you claim to have the certificate.

If you are lying about that, you might as well make the copy anyway.

XXClone would probably work and you dont lose anything trying except time.
Can MaxBlast 3 or 4 do the job? (I understand

Nope, you should be able to use Ghost 2003 and its
dirt cheap as part of SystemWorks Pro 2003 off ebay.

Probably. Its obvious enough if you read it.

recovery CDs. Apparently, it was "ghosted" to the HD. Hence, I have
the certificate of authenticity but no CDs.

My aim is to make an archival copy of the OS either on another HD or to
a bootable CD. What are your thoughts?

Sure, I meant copy someone else's 2K CD or download one etc.

Thats useful if the install goes pear shaped, but isnt as useful as the
distribution CD if you need to repair the install when the clone doesnt boot.
