Hi all!
My computer clock stops at shut down.
Example: I turn it off on the 29/05/06 at 9:25PM start it on th
30/05/06 8:10AM and it will indicate, 29/05/06 at 9:25PM and will star
from there.
If I set the correct time, it will keep it as long as it is running.
All the BIOS' settings are OK. Changed the battery, but still the same
What do you think the problem might be?
I am not overly concerned because all my BIOS settings are OK, I a
more worried about some other, deeper problems that this migh
indicate.

Hi Marcus:

You're problem does not sound like an indication of something more serious.
Remember that batteries are every once in a while bad-- even fresh out of the
box. This is especially true if your battery is an odd type and has been
sitting in the store for awhile. Pull out the "new" battery and have it
tested. You do not mention how old your machine is. It could also be a
loose connection between the battery and the thing-a-flotchy. If that is the
case, and your unit is old, it is probably not worth fixing. Unless you need
strict and precise time-stamping, you could add a command to the startup--
for convenience-- that would prompt you to enter the date at boot-up.

Other than that you may want to post in a hardware forum here or elsewhere.

Good Luck

Hi!
To jmatt, yes SP2 and all the upgrades.

Callmark, thank you for the reassurance, everything else seems to work
OK. checked the battery, also OK.
Downloaded free "Atomic Clock Sync" and it keeps my clock updated
automatically.
The machine is about 2 years old.
Thank you all.
Cheers
