I'm running Windows XP Home edition and my system clock in
Windows is continously loosing time. In Bios the time is
correct.

I know that I can update the time via internet but I
wonder if anyone knows why there is a discrepancy between
the time displayed in Windows compared to Bios?

Advance thanks if anyone has a solution to this.

If a clock loses time when it is shut off, then the battery needs to be
replaced. If it only loses time when windows is running, it is because a
program(s) is taking too much of your processor's time. You may have too
many programs running in the background. Do a cleanup of your startup items
and try to determine which program(s) is causing windows to lose time.

As I mentioned the clock in Bios works perfect so I can't
understand why changing battery would help?
