my OS is windows2000. the clock some how got corrupted and does'nt work.
even if i change the time and date it stays at the same or moves by 30 min
in a day.I have MS antispy ware.
tried running it. but does'nt help.
anyway to get the clock working again?

It could be a hardware problem such as a bad or weak battery on your
motherboard. You can boot from a floppy and use the command "time" to see
and set the time on the computer [I assume this is not a member of an Active
Directory domain]. Let it run from the boot floppy for a while to see it
keeps time or not. If it still loses time it almost surely is something like
a weak battery on your motherboard. Most of the batteries are easily
removable once you take the cover off of the computer. Radio Shack may have
a replacement or else Google for the battery brand and number shown on

Or how about checking the auto update settings of the time...
Another thing to check is most of the people who complained about this is
because of some stupid program called "GMT" sync...
Check once again is there any programs runningin the background...
