Hello there,
Sorry RC did not help, it happens. Make sure that you restore all of the codecs
with RC...otherwise the programs that relied on those codecs will also fail.
I suppose that some improvement has occured
at least it only plays once now
I'm guessing that you have not yet tried Service Pack 2 (SP2) If you have not
then it would be the next logical step. The result of doing that would be to
gain an extre tab in Options called Advanced where you can turn off certain
codecs. It is unfortunate that it also does not work for every one, but its
definately worth a try.
Finally, I would consider the conversion program you used to come from the Real
format to AVI One possible way of confirming that its that conversion thats at
fault would be to import an AVI file obtained from some other source and see if
Movie Maker works ok with that. If it does then its a very strong possibility
that the convertor used is to blame. Its an unfortunate fact that Movie Maker
is a little more pedantic (like me) over the files format.
