clips from movies

Im trying to do a project for History on the Irish Republican Amry. There are many clips from a movie that i would like to incorporate into my project. I was wondering if there is some way to get a movie onto my computer and take certain clipas and scenes from it. Ive seen it on a past students project but can't figure out how they did it. PLease help if you know anything. Thank you .
 
You should contact the maker of the movie and ask for permission to use
clips from their film in your project.

You should also tell us what sort of format the movie is in... or we can't
point you in the right direction.

Yes, you can do that.... I'd suggest you start with the Online > Tutorials
page of my website.
