I use MM to capture video and then create a collection for editing into a
movie. Frequently, the edit points between the clips are untidy,
particularly at the beginning of the clips. Clips have a small amount of
the previous footage. You can edit these out manually, but is there any way
to get tidier clips in the first place?

I find that MM1 makes tidier clips than MM2, and you are in a 30fps editing
environment versus the 30fps working environment of MM2.

If you create you collection in MM2, you can easily import it into MM2.
