When working on a slide, if I hi-lite the title and
copy it to another slide, where I may have had Times
New Roman 28pt. when I paste it in, it has changed to
Airal and smaller point size. WHY, WANT can be done?

Try "Edit", "Paste Special", "Unformatted text". When you copy text you
have to be real careful to not copy the paragraph marker at the end of the
line. If you do, font attributes come over and cause all sorts of
formatting nightmares.

A good tool to use is to triple-click a paragraph of text, hold the SHIFT
key and press the left arrow. This unselects the paragraph marker at the
end of the paragraph. Works in Word as well.

Hope this helps.

It's probably being pasted in the default font you have set for your
presentation. What version of PowerPoint are you using? If it is
PowerPoint 2002 there will be an icon to the right and bottom of the pasted
object. That's a "smart tag". If you hover over it, some options will be
displayed. Select "Keep source formatting". If you select "Keep text
only", it will paste in your default font.

To change the default font, click on the Text tool, click on an empty spot
on any slide, go to Format > Font and make your settings, *plus* check the
box next to "Default for new objects".
