Dear All,

I have installed a terminal server on windows 2000 server
SP4 and I want to give my clients access to log on and
use various applications.I have noticed that it only
allows 2 concurrent sessions. Is there any way I can log
on atleast 5 users concurrently on that server. Is there
any way?

Kindly help!

Regards,

Shariq

You will need to switch from Remote Administration Mode to Remote
Application Mode but than you will have to install License Server.

TO switch to Remote Application Mode go to Add/Remove Programs -> Windows
Component -> Click on Terminal Server Details -> select Remote Application

I believe you meant to say "Switch to Application Server Mode"

Beware that switching from Remote Administration Mode to Application Server Mode often requires the uninstall (before the switch) & reinstall (after the switch) of applications on the server

Dear All,

Thanks fro your help.I have now successfully switched to
the application mode and reinstalled the applications.I
have purchased 5 terminal service client license and the
server is a member server of a Windows 2000 domain.Where
should I now install the terminal server license service
and define that i have 5 CAL for 5 concurrent sessions?

Thanks!

You didn't need to buy any licenses for a XP or 2000
client machine. They are only for 95, 98, ME etc.

ME

1. Vera already clearly stated "If your TS is a member of an AD domain, the Licensing server must run on a DC
2. TSCALs are per device, NOT per concurrent connection.
3. With 2000 TS, 2000 & XP Pro clients receive a free TSCAL from the "activated" TSLS' built-in pool
