Have separated a 2000 server from a Small buiness server
network due to office moves. Therefore have installed
Active Directory to aalow logins etc, but existing clients
cannot logon. I get 'Network Path not found' type errors
when trying to connect clients to domain.

Have managed to ping from clients to server and vice versa.

Please help.

Was this 2k server promoted up into a "new" domain ("Therefore have
installed Active Directory")?
Please clarify a bit more about that win2k server and what steps you did to
it.
Also where is dns running for that domain (and the sbs domain?), and what
are the clients using for name resolution (dns, wins, etc) to try and
resolve SBS and/or the 2k.

This 2k server is on its own standalone network separate
from the SBS. I promoted the 2k server to a DC by
following the Active Directory Install wizard. The dns is
running on the 2k server
How do I tell what the clients are using for name
resolution?

In ip properties you should see addresses for either/or/and wins servers or
dns servers. If you don't see either then there may be lmhosts files on the
individual clients. Those can be there in addition to the wins/dns stuff,
and cause problems if there with wrong addresses, but don't see that often.

info about using lmhosts can be found in;
