Hello,

There may already be an answer to this question, but I
couldn't find it and it seems the search function is
temporarily disabled.

I have a spyware that keeps reappearing on my computer
called ClientMan. I've done a scan and removal in safe
mode of all of the accounts on the computer, and it keeps
coming back. Any suggestions on how to remove it?

Thanks,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

Clientman do offer a uninstall file on thier site, Ive
never tested it but just scanned the file at jotti's
malware site which uses 14 different scanners and its
showing clean so maybe worth a try.

I would suggest the scan in safe mode using MS Antispy
and Ewido's scanner but can see you have already tried
this , The other alternative to using thier uninstaller
is to remove the entries from your system manually if the
spyware scanners are not removing this. First check
Add/Remove screen on control panel for "mscman" and
remove if found

then the registry but don't attemp this unless you feel
confident using regedit

Click Start > and then click Run >and Type

regedit

Then click OK.

You can use the search feature which you get to by
presseing "Edit" then Find and type Client Man or CliMan
and use the F3 button to keep searching after any are
found or this:

Navigate to the key and left click run:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\Run

In the right pane, delete any values called "Client Man"
by right clicking and choosing delete

Then Delete the folder:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CliMan

Exit RegEdit.

Check the ProgramFiles area for this folder:

C:\Program Files\ClientMan\

and remove if found

Then search for this file and delete it if found:

Msckin.exe

If you have XP when you goto search then all files and
folders scroll to the bottom and click Advanced options
make sure that "search system folders" "Search Hidden
files and folders" and "search subfolders" are checked.

If you dont use XP then from the search page click tools
on the top bar then Folder Options,Goto the view tab and
check "Display the contents of system folders" "Show
hidden files and folders" then uncheck "Hide Extentions
for known types" then press apply and search. You can set
this back after the search by opening the same page and
pressing "Restore Defaults"

Regards Andy
