I am new at the client server network and i would like to
know is there a step by step book on how to setup a
client server network.
 
your question is too broad in scope. What operating
systems are you planning to use on server and clients?
Start with Networking for Dummies. No disrespect
intended. It will give you all the rudimentary elements
of a client/server network.
